Movie Thoughts: Spaceballs Sequel

spaceballs

I read this article in IO9 that Mel Brooks is interested in making a Spaceballs sequel. Spaceballs is a parody of Star Wars made by the famous Mel Brooks. He’s well known for comedies like The Producers (1968), Young Frankenstein (1974), History of the World Part 1 (1981) and a lot more. I find it interesting, but not enough for it to be real. I enjoyed the movie, it has it’s funny moments, but really, most of the time the jokes don’t hold up well. And just a few years back, Mel Brooks did make a Spaceballs cartoon, and that in itself didn’t work out too. I really tried watching it, and I just can’t bare it.

If there is going to be a new Spaceballs movie, I don’t think Mel Brooks should be involved  Just like George Lucas is not involved with the new Star Wars movies.
