Gaming News: Final Fantasy XV Demo Footage

The game looks impressive. The video is almost 2 hours long. I’m getting curious how this game turns out.

Currently Playing: COUP (Card game)

original

I was able to get a chance to play a card game on some little time I had. A few friends of mine introduced me to COUP. The game started out as a Kickstarter project. The game is very interesting, because it’s a game of bluff and deception. What amazed me is how simple the concept is.

At first I saw instruction card, I thought it might be hard to understand. But after one play through, the rules are easy enough to understand. And it’s surprisingly easy that anyone can get into the game in just a few minutes. You just have to remember the cards that you can declare which is what the instruction card does.

You hold 2 cards (which also works as your life), and a couple of coins. You can declare that you can a specific card (with some additional instructions like assassinate, steal, get coins, exchange cards and others). Either players follow what you said or, anyone can call it a bluff. If you do have the card, the one who called the bluff looses a card. If you don’t have the card, you loose a card. The game can be played from 2 to 6 players.

There are only 5 cards to consider. The Duke, you take 3 coins. The Captain, you steal coins from another player. The Assassin, can remove any card from another player. The Ambassador, you can exchange any one card that you have. And the Contessa, you can block an assassination.

If you get 7 coins or more, you can declare a COUP. Which forces one player of your choice to loose a card. If you get 10 coins or more, you are forced to declare a COUP.

Regardless of how simple the game is, the artwork is incredible. Even with just 5 cards, it shows that there is love for this game.

It’s a fascinating game. It’s simple, fast and fun. And I can’t stress how simple it is when you get the hang of it. I mean, you can finish a game in just a couple of minutes if you wanted to. But if you really take your time to get in the game, it can be tense trying to figure out if you if you need to lie or tell the truth or trying to figure out if your opponents are bluffing or not. If you have a few minutes to kill, or long hours of fun with friends, I think this is a game that you can enjoy. It gets better with a lot of friends too.

Game Trailer: Sword Coast Legends

For people who are into classic Role Playing Games like Baldur’s Gate, look at this video. What’s interesting is that it’s also made by the director of Dragon Age: Origins by BioWare, which is an amazing game in itself. And people from BioWare used to make Baldur’s Gate, so I presume that this might be a pretty promising game. It’s cool to see the ability to be a dungeon master. I know it has been done with previous games like Neverwinter Nights but I still want to see it in a new game like this.

Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain Trailer

Will we actually miss out a trailer of Metal Gear Solid 5? No way. It was actually out 2 days ago, but a lot of them seemed to have been removed because it was released a little too early. Anyway, it’s officially out now by Konami themselves. The trailer looks amazing, the choice of music to be used in the trailer is impressive too. Music is performed by Mike Oldfield.

Batman: Arkham Knight – Batmobile Gameplay Trailer

All I can say is… I’m excited. I’d love to try using the Batmobile. The video also shows the gameplay used in previous Batman Arkham series, and adding the Batmobile is just something all Batman video game fans have been craving for. Additional info… Scarecrow looks amazingly creepy.

Currently Tinkering: Gaming on iOS7 (Updated)

20131016-ios7gaming

So, I installed iOS7 on my iPad Mini since it was first released. I was hesitant about it at first, but I was bored at the time. Anyway, we need a test unit in the office, so we actually needed to see how applications run on iOS7. So, how did it go?

Currently Playing:Dungeon Village

20121016-dv-01

One of the first games I tried on the Samsung Galaxy Player 4.2 is Dungeon Village from Kairosoft. They were the ones who made a game I also liked called GameDev Story which I enjoyed a lot. I got the game from Google Play for around less than P11 from the Google sale a few weeks back. Dungeon Village is a town building strategy game, but with role playing game elements.

Currently Tinkering: Samsung Galaxy Player 4.2 Gaming

20121012-sgpga-01

Yup, I’m not done talking about the Samsung Galaxy 4.2, but we won’t delve into the gadget but more of the games this time around. I’ve been installing a ton of games recently to see how it fares, although I have mentioned that the player is not really designed for pure gaming since the 1Ghz processor is not up to par these days. Here I’ll be listing the games I have already installed and my initial thoughts about them regarding performance (not game reviews… those come later).
