Exciting news awaits Street Fighter fans and fighting game enthusiasts worldwide, as an opportunity to win US$1,000,000 presents itself. To celebrate the new release of Street Fighter 6, Capcom has recently announced a global tournament, including the Philippines. Alongside the grand prize of $1,000,000 (est PHP56,000,000), there are several other enticing rewards. The second-place winner will receive $300,000 (est PHP16,800,000), followed by $200,000 (est PHP11,200,000) for third place, $100,000 (est PHP5,602,400) for fourth place, and two tied fifth-place winners will each be awarded $10,000 (est PHP560,240). Additionally, tied seventh-place winners will receive $7,000 (est PHP392,000), ninth place will be awarded $5,000 (est PHP280,000), and tied thirteenth-place winners will each receive $4,000 (est PHP224,000). Furthermore, participants in the Capcom Cup X will receive $2,000. The total amount of the prizes is more than $2 million.
The Capcom Pro Tour is scheduled to run from August to January 2024, with the Southeast Asian tournament taking place on November 25-26. Participants from nine countries, including Brunei/Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, and the Philippines, will compete during this period.
To qualify for the Capcom Cup, players have four options:
- Online Premier: Online 1v1 tournaments held in 18 regions worldwide.
The winners of these regional tournaments will all earn a spot at Capcom Cup X. - Offline Premier: Online 1v1 tournaments held in 18 regions worldwide.
The winners of these regional tournaments will all earn a spot at Capcom Cup X. - World Warrior: Five open tournaments will be held in each region where players can earn points for participating. The five regional events will culminate at a regional final featuring the top eight players from the local leaderboard. The winners of these regional finals will all earn a spot at Capcom Cup X.
- Last Chance Qualifier: Offline 1v1 tournament held just before Capcom Cup X. The winner of this tournament will earn the last spot at Capcom Cup X.
